Jean Max Voltaire is the Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Breath of Life Foundation (BLF), an international humanitarian organization dedicated to restoring dignity, strengthening communities, and creating sustainable opportunities for vulnerable populations in Haiti and the United States. Founded in response to the devastating 2010 Haiti earthquake, the Foundation reflects Jean’s enduring conviction that lasting transformation occurs when compassion is combined with strategic leadership, responsible stewardship, and community empowerment. Beyond his humanitarian leadership, Jean is an entrepreneur, author of Rise Again, and a passionate advocate for servant leadership, resilience, and helping people discover and fulfill their God-given potential and purpose.
His leadership is shaped not only by academic preparation and professional experience, but also by personal hardship, resilience, and an unwavering belief that every person possesses inherent dignity, God-given potential, and the capacity to flourish when provided with opportunity, encouragement, and support. These convictions continue to shape the vision, culture, and mission of Breath of Life Foundation.
As Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer, Jean provides strategic leadership for the organization’s long-term vision, governance, and institutional development. Working closely with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, churches, community leaders, and strategic partners, he ensures that every initiative advances the Foundation’s mission with integrity, accountability, and transparency. His leadership reflects the belief that lasting credibility is earned through consistent service and principled leadership.
Jean’s leadership philosophy is rooted in empowerment rather than dependency. He believes sustainable transformation is achieved by equipping individuals, families, and communities with the knowledge, resources, opportunities, and support they need to flourish long after assistance has ended.
Leadership Impact
Since its founding in 2010, Breath of Life Foundation has impacted more than 20,000 lives, helping build stronger and more resilient communities in Haiti and the United States.
Through its education and youth development initiatives, the Foundation has provided essential school supplies to more than 250 students, mentored over 50 children each year, and helped participating students achieve a 95% school attendance rate.
Through housing and community stability initiatives, BLF has assisted more than 300 individuals with housing needs, helped stabilize more than 120 families, and supported 80% of those families in maintaining long-term housing stability.
Looking toward the future, Jean is leading Breath of Life Foundation into its next phase of growth through the development of long-term institutional initiatives in Haiti, including the planned opening of a BLF K–12 School in 2028 and House of Hope in 2030—strategic investments designed to create generational impact through education, leadership development, and sustainable opportunity.
Before establishing the Breath of Life Foundation, Jean built a successful entrepreneurial career driven by the belief that business could become a vehicle for generosity and community impact. That experience strengthened his understanding of leadership, financial stewardship, and organizational development, lessons he continues to apply as he leads a growing humanitarian organization.
Jean’s commitment to lifelong learning is reflected in both his academic preparation and professional leadership. He holds a Master of Divinity, a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, and a Diploma in Theology with a concentration in Ministry Leadership. While attending Oral Roberts University, he served as Vice President of the International Relations Club, where he developed his passion for cross-cultural leadership, diplomacy, and global engagement.
Beyond his executive leadership, Jean has served in nonprofit leadership, humanitarian outreach, ministry, communications, and media leadership. He is also the co-founder of initiatives dedicated to preserving and celebrating Haitian heritage and culture, reflecting his enduring commitment to honoring identity while building bridges across communities.
His leadership continues to be guided by the belief that true success is measured not by personal achievement but by the number of lives transformed through service, opportunity, and hope.
Today, Jean continues to drive Breath of Life Foundation forward with a bold vision for the future, building strategic partnerships, strengthening communities, and creating sustainable opportunities that empower individuals and families to flourish. His leadership reflects a lifelong commitment to transforming compassion into action and ensuring that hope is not merely offered, but experienced through lasting relationships, measurable impact, and enduring service.
